  ColorStar®, the latest innovation from M+A Matting, includes ColorStar standard mats and ColorStar Impressions logo mats. ColorStar mats are printed on PET (polyethylene terephthalate), an eco-friendly polyester yarn that features 50% recycled content reclaimed from discarded plastic bottles. They also offer excellent fade resistance. Unlike printed nylon mats, PET yarn will not lose its color after repeated washings. It offers the performance of solution dyed nylon yarn with the color vibrancy of a printed mat. PET is naturally stain resistant, making it easy to remove unwanted stains from the mat. PET has a higher heat resistance than nylon, making it less susceptible to shrinkage when exposed to high temperatures. This type of shrinkage is one of the primary reasons that mats sometimes ripple.
